About Retake
From the ancient trade winds of the Malabar Coast to the sun-drenched valleys of Kashmir — spices have always been the soul of Indian soil.
Retake began as a conversation between three friends who couldn't understand why spices had gotten so far from the ones they grew up on. No investors, no shortcuts — just a shared obsession with doing it properly. Here's who's behind it.

Aditya leads Retake's vision and its relationships with farming partners — and spends as much time walking fields as he does in meetings. For him, quality is decided long before a spice ever reaches the jar: it's decided by who you choose to work with, and how honestly you treat them.
He started Retake after one too many disappointing trips to the spice aisle — convinced that Indian consumers deserved better than diluted, mislabeled masalas passed off as premium.
"We're not building a spice brand. We're building trust, one jar at a time."

Piyush obsesses over the details most people never think to ask about — how a spice is dried, how slowly it's ground, how it's tested before it's sealed. If a batch doesn't meet his standard, it simply doesn't leave the facility, no exceptions.
He built Retake's sourcing and quality process from scratch, working directly with growers to make sure fair pricing and traditional methods aren't treated as optional extras.
"Purity isn't a marketing word for us. It's a promise we test for, every single batch."

Sahil shapes how Retake looks, feels and speaks — determined to prove that a spice brand rooted in Indian tradition can stand shoulder to shoulder with any premium label in the world.
Every jar, every word on this site, every detail of the experience passes through him before it reaches you. Nothing ships until it feels right.
"India's spice heritage deserves a seat at the premium table. That's what we're here to do."

The Taste of Tradition.
How It Started
Three friends, one shared complaint about bland, adulterated masalas that tasted nothing like what their grandmothers made.
A trip to the chili farms of Kashmir convinced them the problem wasn't the spice — it was everything that happened to it afterward.
Months spent vetting sourcing partners, grinding methods and packaging — until every batch passed a standard the founders set for themselves.
The brand you see today — FSSAI licensed, MSME registered, waitlist open, and closer than ever to your kitchen.
A Glimpse Inside
What We Stand For
Purity isn't a promise we make once. It's a discipline we practice, batch after batch.
Every batch is tested for adulterants before it's allowed anywhere near a jar. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
From farm to jar, we'll always show you exactly where your spice came from and how it got to you.
Stone-ground, sun-dried, slow — made the way it was always meant to be, not the way that's cheapest.
No middlemen skimming margins meant for the people who actually grow our spices.
A Note From Us
Dear Spice Lover,
We didn't set out to build a "brand." We set out to fix something that had quietly bothered all three of us for years — that the spices in our own kitchens rarely tasted like the ones we grew up with.
Every jar of Retake carries a little stubbornness with it. We've argued over grind sizes, rejected batches our own suppliers were proud of, and rewritten this website more times than we'd like to admit — all because "good enough" was never the goal.
We're not there yet. But we're close, and we'd love for you to be part of it from here.
